Welcome to Thunder Wolf Racing, the home of Lakehead University's Formula SAE team. Over the past 3 years, LU students from various disciplines have been working towards building a team that operates like a small manufacturing company. Our goal is to build race cars to compete against the best of the best in a Formula SAE organized event each year.
Lakehead University Places 39th out of 120 teams at FSAE Michigan 2010!
Members of LUFSAE attended the Michigan International Speedway from May 12 to May 15, 2010 to compete in several events with Lakehead's 2nd ever FSAE race car, with vast improvements over its predecessor, the Sledgehammer. Lakehead University placed 39 out of 120 teams, making us 5th out of 18 Canadian Teams - outranking Waterloo, Windsor, McGill, Ecole Polytechnique De Montreal, Carleton, Victoria, Manitoba and Ryerson and others.
Many thanks go out to all that have helped us by sponsoring us with parts and money, donating money and their time - we simply couldn't have done it without all of the support from the community of Thunder Bay and those of our team members.
Official 2010 Race Car Unveiling was a Great Success!
ThunderWolf Racing thanks everyone who came to see the new car on April 7th in Lakehead's University Center. This year's car design is based on sound engineering principles, and should be more than able to help us reach our goal of top 25 at FSAE Michigan in May, when we show the world our Thunder Bay racing spirit!
2010 Race Car Model Renderings Released!
The long awaited full car model has been compiled from each degree project group on the team. After many hours of computer aided design, these virtual images of the race car inspire us to make this a reality! Manufacturing is underway now and we thank all of those who are supporting us in this effort!
